Silicone

Someone on another board sead that Heartland is using silicone around the windows and doors instead of proper rv caulking. Does enyone know if this is true?

I spoke to someone at heartland last week and he told me just use a good quality exterior silicone for exterior of camper and quality kitchen and bath caulk / silicone for interior. Advised me not to waste. My money with silicones from RV dealers. He did say make sure Dicor self leveling for sealant whee it touches my epdm roof.
