It also helps with level up.
That is a understatement !!!! Level-up is incredible for doing this type of work. It's like having a shop lift where ever you go.
I remember something like that but couldn't remember what it was.On the battery charging issue, I might have missed it if this was said, but on the 2017 and up Ford's with the truck running you have to depress the brake for the charging to work.
Update on this repairOk this is where I'm at with this fix.
I have pre drilled the 1.5"×1.5" stud and screwed it in in 2 places on each side. Using the access from the taillights. It is solid as heck but my plan was to do more inside. This will be behind the couch so you'll never see it. I'm on the fence right now of whether I should do it or not.

Wasn't the left rear where you had the brake problem make sure you don't have a frozen caliperI also did the new brake pads and repacked all of the wheel bearings. While I had the tires off replaced 1 tire and balanced all 4. Replacing that 1 tire is what started this all. That's when I found out how bad my brake pads were. All of the wheel bearings looked really good, I did have a little bit of discoloration of the grease from heat on the left rear. But not bad at all.
As you can see in the pictures I had just done my new Dexter HD shackle and equalizer kit that I won at the Jackson CA. rally last year. I think we are about ready to hit the road again.
The tire I replaced had a flat spot on it and was getting worse on every trip.
It's sure is nice to be able to work on it right on the side of my house. I even have shade.

But that seems kinda strange but I'll try it.
I think I'm just going to run my own wire from the batteries back to the 7-way plug.

I replaced mine last year after around 40K miles. Looked to have about 50% remaining. So based on your experience and one of the other posts, it’s appears that about 12,000 miles is the life expectancy of a set of brake pads? That doesn’t sound like much? Just filing the knowledge away for the future.
