Just an observation, but the shocks in my super duty are also mounted strangely, yet they seem to work fine.

I'm not about to second guess anybody, but I am about to replace my no name China shocks with Monroe gas shocks.

Which model of munro are you using? or are you going to change the shock mounts?

I just went to an auto parts store with my shock and they could not match it up with any munro. when I called HL parts they gave me a part number but not sure if it is for the munro or the replacement shock.

Do the shocks come with the bend in the stem at one end or do you have to bend them?

We crawled under just to check everything and found one shock just hanging and the stud bent. Ordered exact same size but we cannot muscle it in to place in the brackets that are there. Any suggestions?

I just had the same problem. I used my hydrolic on the frame just in front of the wheel ( I was working on the front shock on the door side). That lifted and moved enough that |I could depress the shock enough to get it out.

APPEARS to be the same as the lippert kit...same exact size and color, but great prices at www.stengelbros.net

Don't know about any bends. Mine are straight. Not changing anything...direct swap from what I have read.

I replace my shocks with the Monroe shocks. One leaked after three trips. I have now ordered the Joy Rider shocks. They will preform the way shocks should. The OEM placement does not allow the shock to preform properly. On American's best roads, things get bounced, cabinets open, and freezer has half emptied.

That part number may be for your unit but the landmark has a 7.5 inch shock when depressed and 12 when extended. That shock is 8.35 by 13.5..
I spoke to Monroe at length they got me part number 555001. when placed beside the chinese shocks, matched perfectly.

Will find out this weekend going on a 5000km trip.
