50 amp plug on generator

I'm a rookie to RVs and portable generators, so be gentle.

I picked up a 10,000 watt dual fuel generator for a good price. It has a 50 plug on the panel marked AC 120/240V 50A.

When I plug in my Progressive SSP-50XL surge protector I get 1 "Surge Protection On" green light when set to 120v and both green lights when switched to 240v. I dont get any blue lights indicating a good connection or red lights indicating bad.

Is there something I need to do to be able to use it to power my 3650BH?

Thanks in advance,
Bob

Progressive Industries products like to see a bonded neutral from the supply. RV's are not bonded and probably not your generator.
So in my case I made an adapter, (male and female plugs) and jumped the neutral to the ground.
Problem solved for me when using a generator.
Your case may be different but it's food for thought. You might want to contact Progressive Industries and ask about your situation.

Peace
Dave
