Added real curtains

I decided that the day/night shades in the bedroom weren't "night" enough for me. I took the existing curtain rods, removed the one-piece curtain/valance and replaced with a pair of café curtains. I use the existing tie-backs to pull them back most of the time. They are a tad long at 36" but they do the trick and cut the light infiltration when trying to nap during the day. I found the curtains in the clearance area of Bed-Bath-and-Beyond. They blend perfectly with the decor.

We did something very similar. We kept the day night shades and added a darker full length curtain to the bedroom windows. In addition I put a Limo tint on the bedroom windows. Now it's even dark during the day.

I guess we are on the other end of the spectrum. We like lots of fresh air and sleep with our bedroom windows, including the curtains, wide open on all but the coldest of nights.

To clarify, the day/night shades are still there. Just changed the decorative curtains to real ones I can close. :)
