ATF: Cyclone - OMG...MY FLOOR FELL OUT

the floor of my living room slide is no longer attached to the sides of the slide. I looked at it, and there was one screw in the front and one screw in the back of the slide holding the floor on. those two screws held on for a good while, but sadly they have finally been overcome by gravity. I was wondering what the best way to fix this ? I can't imagine that this is the correct way that the floor should be fastened. also the edges of the plywood are starting to show some mosture damage. what is the best way to prevent this? I read something about a trim piece that is avalible?

anyhow thanks in advance for the help.

Hi mayhem,

Welcome to the Heartland Owners Forum and Family. We have a great bunch of people here with lots of information and all willing to share their knowledge if needed.

I'm sorry your having a problem with the floor of your slide, but we need more information. What is year and model, did you buy new or used, last 8 digits of VIN, and pictures of the damage. Normally this type of damage can be seen long before it creates a problem during the routine maintenance of checking caulking and things like that.

Please post the above information so that our family can help.

As jimtoo advised, more info from you will help. This has been an issue on some of the older trailers and depending on how much moisture damage you have can be easily fixed. You can buy a piece of aluminum angle as long as needed to cover that corner of the floor. Measure from the outer flange to the inside fascia. Probably around 36". I would use 2" angle. Remove the existing piece of trim on the side wall and replace it with the aluminum angle. Use lots of caulk to prevent further moisture from getting in. On the bottom of the angle, you'll have to countersink the screw heads to prevent damage when extending & retracting the slide. On the side of the angle, you can use regular head screws. I would use stainless steel screws.

This is surprising. I had checked our Cyclone after reading about the C-channel mods here. The slides are well sealed along the edge.
