Awning Motor dragging

Has anyone had trouble with the electric motor on their awning ? Ours is running out of power. Does anyone know if the motor is inside the roller? If so, how do you get to it?
Any info would be apprediated.

We have been having trouble with ours recently. It is in the roller tube, however a couple of years ago we had a problem and thought it was the motor and it turned out to be the control board. If you are still in warranty I would suggest to get it looked at by an RV repair facility. Our is currently dragging. It is also important your 12 volt battery is fully charged or it will drag.

Here's the Dometic Power Awning manual. Doesn't give much troubleshooting info, though.

Thanks so much for the Users Guide. We didn't have that. The info about how to close awning if a power failure could be useful. We're having the dealer look at the awning since it's under warranty yet.

Thanks for your input. Battery is fully charged. We're taking it to the dealer, since it's still under warranty .

Probably your best bet. Our motor died the end of our first summer, still under warranty, though. Fortunately it was retracted and would not extend.
