Wanting to add awning to my slide out. 2016 Oakmont (fifth wheeler) a 12 volt light is in corner so electric should be easy to get to. Looking at Dometic to match my other awning. My question is is this something I can do myself? Dealers seem way expensive for installation. Thanks

Welcome to the Heartland Owners Forum.
It's probably not too difficult to self-install, but as with any unfamiliar project, there could be pitfalls. I'm not sure how many people have installed an awning on their slideout, but I'm sure anyone who has will fill you in on what they learned in the process.

Thanks for quick response. Does not seem like it would be difficult, just a little nervous about drilling holes in slide out.
