I just received and installed the Companion in my truck. I already had the Turn Over Ball, because I have a goose neck equipment trailer I pull. Anyway, the shipping weight on just the Companion was 205 lb. I don't know what the Turn Over weighed, but I would guess 150 lb or so.
The quality of the B&W is top notch. This is the 3rd truck I've had the Turn Over Ball in and have never had a problem with one. It's rated for 30,000 lb and I know I've pulled more with it. The Companion part is rated for 18,000 lb, but don't let that fool you. It's made very heavy duty. At the Hersey show I was talking to the B&W guy and he told me they've tested the Companion to over twice that rating and haven't had a problem. The owner of B&W is very safety minded and under rates to keep people safe. Another example of him being safety minded, is how they will not recommend the Sidewinder pin box. He was so worried about his customers safety he bought one and did a weeks worth of testing with it. Needless to say he didn't like what they found. I don't know of any other company that's done that and if it's not safe with B&W, how's it safe with any other brand of hitch? They're all not that different in design, for the most part....
