Base and D-Seal Material Used - 2008 3400RE Three Slides

Hello,

Just purchased a 2008 3400RE. One of the first things that is needed to make it travel ready is to replace the seals on all of the slides. All three of the slides have some major deterioration of the seals. Gooey mess on the slide tops, and a lot of the seal material missing on both the tops and sides.

Question to the group who has done this repair. How much (feet) of material did you end up using in total?

Thank you in advance for your replies,

Hi DGS,

Welcome to the Heartland Owners Forum and to the family. We have a great bunch of folks here with lots of information and all willing to share their knowledge when needed.

I would think the easy way is to just get a tape measure and measure around where you need the seals. Heartland has a good parts department and can get it to you.

Be sure and check out our Heartland Owners Club. Join us at a rally when you can and meet lots of the great folks here and make friends for a lifetime.

Enjoy the forum and your new to you unit.

Can't help with the seal question, but with a 2008 model, take a close look at the bottoms of the slides at the sides. If you see exposed plywood flooring, better get some aluminum trim made up to cover them. If the edges are exposed and delaminating, you've got bigger problems.
