I like the low mount much better, I pulled my back many times loading bikes in the box of the truck, now I just mount the rack on the hitches, for like 12" to lift.
I don't know what would be involved in having a 2" receiver hitch receiver welded on to the frame. It's something we'd consider having done as well.
Hey Heartland people, other manufacturers do this "mod" as a standard practice. I can't imagine it would be that difficult to do, especially before the trailer is assembled. This was always a check in the other company's favor, although obviously the "pros" of everything else swayed us over to our BigHorn.
