The Army Corps of Engineers does large public infrastructure projects, like dams and river channel improvements. The campgrounds are usually associated with one of their dams. There is a Federal discount pass for seniors and handicapped that can get you lifetime 50% discounts at all National Parks and COE campgrounds. https://www.nps.gov/planyourvisit/passes.htm
And if you can't find the Bernie mentioned, you can go to https://www.recreation.gov/ see a listing of all the parks and all there is to know about each of them. It is worth it and as was already mentioned most of them half price with your national parks pass.
There is also a CD available from at least some of the COE campgrounds.
We asked if there was a list, or a book available and the campground host pulled a CD out from under the counter for us.
we just stayed at COE park right on the Mississippi river in Illinois (quad cities area) right off of I80 and it was really nice especially at $10/night with senior pass. stayed in Georgia on Alatoona Lake and those were also really nice. Don't remember the price but it was cheap relative to the area.
