While doing some average weather searching for the area, can someone tell me what I'm reading isn't true.
All I read about is the Santa Anna winds that seem to never end being in excess of 20MPH with ridiculous gusts and sand and dust storms.
April and May are the worst time of year.
They have a pic with a line showing the skyline because you can't see it in the dust.
Please, someone reassure me that this isn't so. Even now, the 2 week weather shows serious winds.
I've been here at the NRA Whittington Center Campground just south of Raton, NM since Saturday (head out in the morning...maybe???), and I can tell you that it gets pretty windy here!
Woke up this morning to the Prowler growling against the wind at 5 am this morning...
Thought us quasai-retired folk are supposed to be able to sleep in!
At least until 5:30 am anywayzzzzzz...
Haven't been able to use the outside grill because of the wind...
My little electric George Foreman grill has been my best friend, although it will only do about four strips of bacon at a time.
Frank, accept the fact that you are going to have to get some extra hold hairspray and super strong cables to hold the Tiki bar in place plus maybe find the wind break tarp you all used up at Lake Proctor by Ed and Susan's site.
Seems like lately when you and Ted get together it gets real windy.
I guess the altitude will keep it from being "Hot Air".
Those winds we had this morning...not sure there is any hair spray strong enough for that!
Especially with all that long hair that 'Lil Guy' has!
Here is what I looked like when I went out in the wind this morning...
Just happened to have an action cam following me
And as far as all the "Hot Air"...
You know what they say about that in these parts...
It's a dry heat!
Oh yeah...2020JohnD!
