Dave Tyler? Did pull a gun on you? I had to throw his gun over the metal detector to get into the casino in La..

Thanks to Don's and Dave Tyler's encouragement, we've made reservations...arriving on 1 May and departing 7 May. Assigned to site 1226, but will be arriving in our other RV, La Pequeña (SOB) and leaving La Casa Rodante (Landmark) at the home base. Look forward to seeing y'all. Please put one down for the tram ride.

Rex and Karen, we are so glad you decided to come and looking forward to meeting you both. Going to be a fun time!

If the truth is known, Rex has plenty of his own! I am hopping he brings a utility trailer behind the SOB to haul all the parts and supplies he normally has with him. Plus all the tools.
Will be good to see Karen and the dogs. On the forum, besides "Frank", there are a couple good guys, Rex is one of them!! He may even want to run for President?

We'll bring a french toast bake.

We're in Alto now - it's beautiful. Gotta leave in couple weeks to go see Dave Tyler - Alto can't compare to Post, Tx. Anyway, looking forward to FB, smoky bacon, Tiki hut and non-political election. Frank, it seems to me the Tiki hut would be a great location for a non-party caucus?

Now we're getting somewhere. Who else is going to make some potatoes? Need enough so they don't run out before I eat.lol

Can someone tell me what to expect of the weather this time of year and do the winds howl or are they docile. Thanks in advance.

While doing some average weather searching for the area, can someone tell me what I'm reading isn't true. All I read about is the Santa Anna winds that seem to never end being in excess of 20MPH with ridiculous gusts and sand and dust storms. April and May are the worst time of year. They have a pic with a line showing the skyline because you can't see it in the dust.
Please, someone reassure me that this isn't so. Even now, the 2 week weather shows serious winds.

Frank, accept the fact that you are going to have to get some extra hold hairspray and super strong cables to hold the Tiki bar in place plus maybe find the wind break tarp you all used up at Lake Proctor by Ed and Susan's site. Seems like lately when you and Ted get together it gets real windy. I guess the altitude will keep it from being "Hot Air".

I've been here at the NRA Whittington Center Campground just south of Raton, NM since Saturday (head out in the morning...maybe???), and I can tell you that it gets pretty windy here!

Woke up this morning to the Prowler growling against the wind at 5 am this morning...:(

Thought us quasai-retired folk are supposed to be able to sleep in!

At least until 5:30 am anywayzzzzzz... ;)

Haven't been able to use the outside grill because of the wind...

My little electric George Foreman grill has been my best friend, although it will only do about four strips of bacon at a time. :p

Those winds we had this morning...not sure there is any hair spray strong enough for that!

Especially with all that long hair that 'Lil Guy' has!

Here is what I looked like when I went out in the wind this morning...

Just happened to have an action cam following me

And as far as all the "Hot Air"...

You know what they say about that in these parts...

SpaceballsHairDryer.jpg

It's a dry heat!

Oh yeah...2020JohnD!

Frank:
From my Direct Line up above, I am told not to worry!
Not sure what that means but I will take it.
Also the rec hall has a full kitchen and you can always move in
that direction to do your "Master Chef" work!

All will be okay, please don't have a heart attack on us,
JohnD and TedD are counting on your questions.....

So much for Margaritaville. By the way, I hear that the hot air balloons out there can go across the state in 15 minutes.
No problem. I'll get some goggles to keep the sand and dust out of our eyes and put out guy lines to different locations to find our way back to the rig. Great time of year for Albuquerque you Bozos.
Neither sleet, hail, or howling winds will keep us away. I have just enough money left after spending the rest of my 401 on Margaritaville upgrades and accessories to afford the 5MPG fuel expense while driving into the WNW gale force winds to reach our destination. At least I won't get blown away being 5'6" tall and weighing 278 lbs.(been eating too much bacon)
Ted, Ed and myself will be coming in Wednesday traveling in caravan so if we're not there by late afternoon, please send someone out to find us. Don't want to relive the Donnor party adventure. If we are lost and starving in the extreme conditions we're expecting, Ed and I can't live off of Ted. He's too skinny.

Always an adventure. See everyone there.

Ted should have a couple of hours anyway since you'll have a bunch of bacon on hand...right?

A couple of hours. Are you serious? Those 2 guys can't go 10 minuets without eating.

Well guys, you all know as well as we do that we have no control over the weather. Yes, we are having some winds now but hoping they die down by May. We have some great activities planned and if it does blow a little we don't think that should cause any delay in the plans..Like George said, just spray on a little extra hair spray :) See you soon!!

We were contacted today by the Albuquerque News as to what kind of political gathering we were going to have in May and more importantly who is this Frank Baker and Ted Davis?? My lovely bride informed them that they were not only in the political game, they are also in charge of what is known as the Breakfast Extravaganza and more importantly world famous Tiki Bar.. After many questions I informed them (the press) that they are welcome to come check this rally out. So I don't think you want to miss this one :)

Well.....It sounds like the Albuquerque Indian Gazette has expanded their Rumor mill search!
There were some questions on the Midnight express this past evening about this subject.
I just hope all the candidates have filed all the FCC, applications correctly and the Secret Service
isn't prowling around the Rally get togethers in search of violations!

Maybe Frank will end up in Jail prior to Pueblo!
