We are brand new Heartland Big Country owners, and newbies to RV'ing, so we're thinking a rally might be just the thing for us to learn a lot! What kinds of activities, learning and otherwise, might we expect at a Rally? Do we need to join a Chapter? Thanks for any info you kindly provide, we are really excited about our RV life ahead

Welcome to the Heartland family! Normally you will be assigned a chapter to be a member by the club administration. That doesn’t mean you can’t attend any rallies in other states or chapters. Your membership is free, no dues, and no meetings. You can go to any rally anywhere and you will have lots of fun, meet other like minded people who like the RV lifestyle, whether they are full timers, any timers, or some timers.
What can you expect at a rally, we have tours, sightseeing, seminars, dining out, potluck dinners, outings, rig repairs and much more. Museums tours, winery tours, Shooting Range, table games and much more.
I see you have gotten some responses to your message already but I wanted to add my two cents too. If there is somewhere you would like to travel to, check the events tab and then pick what interests you. Of course we’d love to have you attend our next rally which will be in October at the Choctaw Casino in Durant, Oklahoma. We’re in the planning stages now but we’re considering a winery tour and of course there is the casino action if you’re interested in that.
My wife Barbara and I are in our second full year as volunteer chapter leaders so we enjoy the activities and meeting new members and seeing our other friends too.
If you would like to attend a rally somewhere the only expenses you will have are travel expenses and RV park fees. Just make your reservations and then inform the appropriate chapter leaders so they will expect you. Join the club and when you get your members number, you will be all set, just memorize your numbers.
