Jon it is freezing here. Had my long johns on. They don't go well with lederhosen.

As I remember it Bernie... it was so hot last year even the Fireball was sweating:):) at least during the day.

Saturday

Cool and not as windy today. The sun even was out most of the day :)

Today was an "on your own" day. Some stayed in, others went to the craft show here at the campground.

Many more went downtown Amana for Oktoberfest activities and to shop.

After dinner, a few attendees went to Festival Hall and about two dozen of us braved the final official rally campfire over at Dan and Karen's.

Gary, glad to hear that you are home. Judi and I wish you the best. A transient ischemic attack (TIA) is an event, sometimes called a mini-stroke,

I've never heard that term (TIA), but I am familiar with having a stroke as I had one four years ago this month (October 22, 2010) at the age of 50.

I have to say that I've had much better days than that day.

Changed my life forever . . .

Hope Gary is OK!

Looks like you guys had a great rally, wish we could have been there!

Bernie, we don't know how long we'll be up here. If the weather cooperates, the harvest usually lasts 2 weeks. It officially started on Oct. 1, but they've been bringing in beets for around 2 weeks. We've really worked our butts off so far! I heard that they are predicting 1 MILLION TONS of beets this year!!! That's a lot of sugar buddy!!!

Kudos to Team Amana on another great rally in the heartland with the Heartlands. We had a great time and truly appreciate the hard work that went into this rally. Safe travels to those who are working their way back home or onto another adventure.

Many Thanks,

Emme and I got to say goodbye to several attendees this morning before they rolled out. By the time Nancy and I got all our stuff done, ready to head out, it was about 10:30 am. Said goodbye to the two couples from CO and we were on our way.

I want to give a big shout-out to our rally planners:
- Jay and Stella Coffman
- Dan and Karen Halvorsen
- Dave and Shel Lippe

For each of them, this was the first Heartland Regional Rally they planned and executed. I enjoyed mentoring them and working along side them. Thank you rally team.

Thanks also to all who jumped right in to help cook, serve, setup, clean-up etc.

Finally, thank you to 42 couples from 12 states that made this rally the success that it was. I hope you had as much fun at the rally and in and around the Amana area as Nancy and I did.

And a surprise for me today... My boss forwarded a voice mail to me that was left by rally attendee Roy Hiebner (NE). Roy wanted to let Heartland know the he and Brenda had a fabulous time. Thank you Roy for taking the time to make a heartfelt call like that.

Heartland is not perfect, nor are we as your club leaders. But we try very hard to make a great RV and we've tried hard to build a great club and online community that really supports our product owners. We appreciate you!

Well add Marti and Me to the list of people that thought the rally was great. We had a great time meeting all of the folks from the U.P. down to Arkansas. To the plannersJay and Stella and their team we say great job, but next time please plan a little warmer weather for these folks with thin blood.

To all the folks we did not get to say good bye to, I'm sorry we missed you. We wished we could have stayed longer. Our first stop was scheduled for Peculiar, Mo. but the weather was good and we were making good time so we went on to Carthage, a long day but the weather was warm. Beautiful country, we'll be back. After that, on to home. Safe travels to all, we will meet again.:)
