I am back in Chicago. Thanks John and Deb and your many assistants for planning and executing a great rally. Happy I made the trip, even if I did pick up a new nick name :)

Had a great time at our second Heartland Rally...Thanks to John and Deb and all those who made the weekend so fantastic. We really enjoyed meeting so many great people and feel like we now have a second family--- a camping family that is. Wish we were able to get to the next rally but that awful terrible rotten word---WORK wins out for this time. But we look forward to next year...Thanks to Jim for sharing the weekend with all of us...Steven and Mary

Great job - the bar is set high now! We left Tuesday morning just before the rain started. Stopped at the CW store at exit 19. Nice store.

Bash Bish falls, about 20-30 minutes from the CG

And if you missed the main access you found the trail access, which was quite the hike.

Duane the falls look great with the start of the fall folliage! Very nice pic.

So glad you, Dickle and Mr. Daniels were able to enjoy one last campfire before heading home.

About that bar.........my mind is working overtime already!

At the risk of keeping this thread going too long and at the risk of giving Debbie and John swelled heads, Pat and I want to congratulate the organizers and all of their many helpers for the First Northeast Region Heartland Rally. After camping on the road for five weeks it was great to get together with so many wonderful people and have so much fun.

We are only sorry that we will miss the Second Rally as it conflicts with our Alaska itinerary. I know you will have a great Second and we should be there for the Third.

Safe travels to all of you, wherever your paths lead.

Pat and John

Well whatever swelling we have is from all the nice things everyone has had to say either through your emails, text messages, phone calls or here on the forum. We are so glad you all had a good time and trust me that we had just as much fun as you. We are really looking forward to Gettysburg so be safe and don't forget to register for the 2013 Northeast Region Rally.

If anyone would like any of their rally photos to be included in the Gallery, please email them to me this week. I will be completing our gallery upload today and we would like to add any pics you feel should be included. Please send your picture files to northeastregiondirector@gmail.com the more pictures we can complie, the better our story will be told!

No surprise we were the last to leave the museum (pulled out actually - something to do with getting the pot luck ready).

For those interested, I was giving this list handout of youtube searches for more information on the things you saw.

This includes the Hot Rod race fire truck you saw on the main floor, along with fire fighter competition events.
"clayton fire department drilll" (miss spelling intentional)

Demos of hand - tubs (hand operated fire pumps) These were the standard before the invention of coal fired steam pumps in the mid 1800's.
I could not imagine what it took to run a pump like this for a couple of hours fighting fires.

This was a great side trip from the rally and a museum that I had not known about - great Job Deb and John.

Did anyone walk around the building to see how you make a water garden at a fire type building?
Don't know which link may work since it is "my channel"

Debbie,
thanks for posting the pictures. It gave MarySue and I great memories of the first Northeast Regional Rally and getting us excited to see everyone again next weekend in Cape May. You and John did a great job of making the regional rally a big success.
