My wife and I have one and use it all the time. We have that as a must have requirement for any new RV we may buy. As said before it saves propane.

Had the fireplace and was going to replace it because I needed the space. Then one day turned the fireplace on and been sold ever since. I love it--my fireplace...

I agree totally with jnphobe. I always thought it looked like a waste of space, but the unit we got had one and I love it. I does heat very well and who needs storage space you have to get on you knees to get to anyway??
Really like ours, although it is a personal choice.
