I keep a Champion 3100 watt inverter gasoline generator in my truck bed forward of the 5th wheel hitch, along with a 5 gallon military jerry can of fuel. Both items chained down to the 5th wheel hitch. I have a 30 amp 50 foot extension cord to reach the trailer 50 amp cord if I need to use the generator. I have a "soft start" modification box in my 15 K BTU air conditioner to assure the generator can start things. I have to watch my power consumption when on 30 amps - No air conditioner, electric water heater, or microwave on at the same time.
I pretty much stay in RV parks, and the generator system is in case of power outages/cut offs. At the price of fuel, one full day's generator fuel approaches the cost of a day's space rent.
