Hot water tank

My hot water tank is leaking and I have purchased a replacement tank. Now to install this. Have done some reviewing how on you tube. Has anyone replaced their tank and do you have any tips to make this easier.

What rig? On our Road Warrior to repair the water heater, the furnace had to come out. The furnace was the first thing behind the basement wall, once out it was easier to get to the water heater, not easy, but easier.

The trailer is a 39 foot trail runner . Thankful the furnace is to the side.

Are you going to replace the whole unit or just the tank portion? Where is the leak? Our water heater leak was the plastic inlet at the bottom for the cold water.

Just the tank portion. The tank has a pin whole leak spraying from the centre weld.

I know I have seen several u-tube videos detailing replacing the entire water heater assembly. I wasnt aware that you could buy just the tank?

Dstokell, can it be welded? I have seen where people have had the leaks welded.

Keep in mind that this is a pressure vessel if you chose to try to weld.
