Houston, we have (had) a problem!!

First thing this morning noticed all sockets in the kitchen slide not working, but the ones in dinette slide were...strange since they all are on same circuit!!

Checked breaker, no problem everything working there. Next DH decided to look for a junction box on kitchen slide...I remembered seeing a chase in lower entertainment cabinet behind double doors...he found it there. However, no issue in all those connections. Then he realized there was a socket directly in line with junction box, next to TV that has a USB connection in it and figured it fed all the other sockets in the slide... Right again! After some detective work he discovered that it had apparently stopped grounding internally and was no longer functioning!

Not how we wanted to spend Sunday morning...he's off to Lowes for a new wall socket...but at least problem solved!! Bizarre..to say the least.

WOW glad you found it. Who would have thought to check the setup near the TV. We know Ken will have you up and running in to time. Nice to have a handy person around when you need him.

Yeah, that's why I married him...LOL!

As for looking at the socket, it was a process of elimination...we knew the slide was fed from the junction box, and since all sockets are on same circuit, they had to run in a series. Since they were ALL not working, it made sense it was the socket closest to the box that fed them all...glad it was the socket and not in the wiring of the slide...that would have been bad!!!
