When we were out in the RV a few weeks ago, we noticed a 12 inch long piece of seal laying in front of the refrigerator when putting the off-door slide out. Upon further investigation, I found where the torn seal came from. Right in front of the slide rollers under the refrigerator. My guess is that the seal somehow was grabbed by the rollers the last time we put the slide in and thus tore it off. I contacted Heartland and they have sent me a 14 foot replacement seal for the entire slide. It was still under the one year warranty. Now the closest dealer is playing the usual game and saying they cannot get the rig in for a couple of months and maybe longer since I did not buy the rig there. So was wondering if anyone else has had a similar problem and whether they repaired themselves or went to a dealer. It looks like the seal is stapled on the inside of the trim piece. So the entire trim piece would have to be removed to get to the seal. I could remove the piece but was concerned about refitting it and making it look nice again. One dealer told me they used a ton of staples to attach the sweeper seal to the trim piece. Heartland indicated that the problem could be caused by a misaligned slide.
