Mallard M312 dinette table to bed conversion

So when I try to convert the table to a bed the "extra" pc for it that was stored under the Queen bed is not made correctly. The plywood is cut too short and the fold down legs are about 1" too short. So what happens is the it tilts down and falls. It cannot be used as designed. I've owned the camper only a few months and this is the first time using the table as a bed. Other than totally rebuilding it is there any other options? I would appreciate any help from anyone.
