I think I can one up you all, when it comes to complaining about the Heartland Warranty. I have a 2021 Torque Toy Hauler Trailer and like a lot of you folks I did my home work and thought Heartland made a quality product and would be a good brand to purchase. I received my trailer back in Sept of 2021 so my trailer is still in warranty. I began having issues with the Dometic fridge as soon as we were out on our first trip. Got a mobile guy to look at it. He replaced the ignitor and it seemed to work or lite better. Then had unrelated gas leak at heater, water faucet failed in bathroom and leak on toilet. Could not seem to find anyone that would do repairs quickly and since we were going on a trip. Got parts locally and did repairs myself. Was a plumber for 40 yrs before retirement so this stuff is easy. Than disaster struck. Just before leaving for a short trip in April I was doing these repairs with my truck hooked up to my trailer in front of my house, when I smelled a fire inside of my trailer. Ran outside to check although could not find the problem. When I got back in the trailer what ever was burning seem to go away. Went on my trip and had issues with Dometic fridge not working again. Came home and book an RV repair appointment, it took about 30 days to get into see them. A few days after bringing it in they called and said that it look like a fire had burned behind the refrigerator. We filed a warranty claim with Heartland through the repair facility. The damage was around $16,000 to repair. After a month of screwing around with Heart RV "Clowns" Jack Grey and Damon Westjohn they turned it over to Dometic for review. With in a few days Dometic came back and said that the fire was caused by a wasp or bee infestation. Of course Heartland looking for a way out, not to have to spend a dime repairing anything fully concurred with them and advised me to file an insurance claim with my carrier. This has been the biggest BS story I had ever had to deal with. There was never any Wasp, bee or rodents in my trailer including any droppings ever found. No one from Heartland or Dometic ever came out to physically visit the repair facility to survey the damage. The fact of the matter is they made up this bullshit story to get out of having to pay for the shoddy workmanship they allow at their factories. The only good news about this is that my insurance carrier approved the claim within 3 days of visiting the repair station. I have forwarded all the documentation over to them and I sincerely hope they will subrogate this claim back to Heartland. Good luck to all who might need warranty claim work from this company they do not treat their customers well.
I was speaking with my RV Repair person who was a automotive dealer industry veteran. He said when he first came into the RV industry he thought that the auto industry had the most dishonest business practices, although after a few years dealing with the cheaters and liars of the RV business he had to rethink that.
