Sure don't have as much time this summer as I hoped but finally got the dining table unbolted from the floor and turned it sideways freeing up quite a bit of space. Will have to put 2 chairs in storage but we don't use them as it is, got 2 folding ones in the closet if the need arises.

What I'm trying to figure is resetting the base yet still be able to slide it out for a leaf, could be I just need to run 2 smaller rails just under the edge with a center 'pole' though I'm not fond of them, still wondering if I can cut the existing wood so its narrow but still sturdy. Anyone try it and what did you end up doing to keep it functional?

The funny part is one end is flat so I turned it around to the entry wall instead. I think HL was in the middle of changing that when our unit was built but I can't attach it to the existing wall for a drop down, the windows are in the way.

We strap ours for travel and through the chairs. We did not secure to the floor after turning. Does just fine!
