Pdi

As a new Bighorn Traveler owner we spent 2 hours going thorough the PDI at the dealer.
There is so much information to absorb in that amount of time, you just cant remember it all.
It would be nice if someone would put together some videos on the different functions new owners need to remember.

Hi David,

Congratulations on the Bighorn Traveler and welcome to the Heartland Owners Forum.

The dealer walk through can be like drinking from a fire hose. Too late for you, but sometimes we recommend having a 2nd person video the walk through. I don't think anyone on this forum has made anything like you're suggesting.

What we do have is a collection of owner-written user guides covering quite a wide range of information. You can get to those documents by clicking on TOOLS tab at top of page and selecting HUG - Heartland User Guides, or by clicking this link.

Google is your best friend when it comes to learning how to do different things with the RV.
This forum helps as well and soon you will be helping others too.

We made a video for our own reference.

We have a similar setup and hope to do the same thing in a few years when we both retire.

2014 Silverado 2500 HD with Duramax Diesel
2017 Bighorn Traveler 39MB

Since you have travelled so far and wide, have you ever found where the 2500 is either under powered or in need of more braking power when going down steep grades? We have been thinking of upgrading to the 3500 Dually with the same Duramax Diesel.

Try upgrading to disk breaks. If you don't adjust the break controller properly, you would be surprised how easy it is to lock up the trailer breaks. Best investment we ever made.
