We are curious as to what campgrounds in the Pigeon Forge Area in Tennessee you have used and could recommend. We will be taking out last trip of the year to that area and have found reviews for three that look promising. Have any of you stayed at and could recommend one of these three or maybe another campground that is not to expensive...say Under $50 a night?
1. Creekside Rv Park
2. Mill Creek Resort
3. Twin Mountain Outdoor resort.

We will be heading out the first week in October and would like to see the area so if you know any good places please let us know.

River Plantation is a real nice park it is between Sevierville and Pigeon Forge. Quiet park close to outlet malls etc. Recently we have been staying at Riversedge. It is located at the last stoplight on the South end of PF. Can get to Gatlinburg/ National Forest quickly as well as the activities in PF. It is right on the Parkway and the trolley has a stop in the park if you prefer not to drive. We have never stayed at Creekside but heard it is very nice and quiet as it is a few miles off the main parkway. We just like the convenience of Rivers Edge. We'll be down there 1st week of October for a few days.

There is a lot of things to do in the area and diversity of thing from hiking in or driving thru the NP, to Dollywod, Golf, shopping.... The island in PF is fairly new area that is nice, Cades Cove in the NP is a great area to drive to. Dixie Stampede is a great dinner show. I can go on and on just love the area have been there close to 20 times and never get tired of . Let us know where you decide on.

We just returned from Tennessee. We stayed at Anchor Down RV a Resort in Dandridge. It's about a 25 minute drive from the mainstream of Seveirville and Pigeon Forge. The park is new and unbelievable. Check them out on the web.

Look at " up the creek" in Pigeon Forge. Great people and great sites. Very quite and sits right on the creek. Site 3 is really nice. It's a deluxe site (#3 ) but they have plenty of other sites that are cheaper. Several of the RV places we looked at while visiting were parking lots with power.. Yuk. I suggest you google earth these places and see what you think.

Have fun in the smokies! Great place to visit!

We have stayed at Pine Mountain several times. If you can get a stream site go for it. Check it out in RV Park Reviews.Don

River Plantation would be a number 1 spot. Creekside is nice but is an older park with tight sites unless you get in the back. Pine Mountain is another new park but also can have some tight sites. Anchor Down is the newest park but not really close to PF or Gatlinburg area so if you want peace and quiet, that's the place except for the boat noises. Haven't been to Mills Creek or Twin Mountain so can't comment on those. Another good park out from Pigeon Forge is Cove Creek which is in the Wears Valley area. TN Chapter HOC had their rally there this past spring and everyone liked the park. There are just too many places to choose from.

We also just got back from a week at Up The Creek. This is a very small and quiet campground with full hook ups. There is no dump station, laundry facilities, bathrooms or bath houses, pool, etc. Just a nice quiet campground. We have been there 3 times already and loved it each time. I prefer the creekside sites, specifically sites 32 or 33.

Enjoy, and let us know where you decided to stay.
