Pioneer - Sewer Hose Storage - Under travel trailer, fence post for tube

Added sewer hose storage to Pioneer travel trailer. Followed some online examples that use a 5x5" vinyl fence post. This solution allows you to store hose and fittings.

This is the first time I've made this type of sewer storage.
  • Fence post and end caps were painted black to help blend in under trailer.
  • Tricky part was trying to figure out how to affix to trailer.
    • Flexible metal pipe hanger strap was useful for this.
    • Needed drill bit for metal to drill through frame
    • Other parts are just nuts, washers, locking washers, and screws.
  • Also, I purchased hinge to make a door with end cap. Because the fence post cap was not originally intended to be a door, I trimmed off corner of fence post to allow it to more easily open and close. It still covers the side.
  • To keep the door closed, I purchased a linchpin that I can just drop in and pull out of a drill hole through end cap and fence post.

Used screw eyes in back in case I needed access to other side.

For the inside of the tube, some people add a vinyl rain gutter to use as a tray for the hose and fittings. I did too and it seems to make it easier to pull them out. I used a quick link at the end as a handle.
