Rod - thanks for the testimonial. If I end up going back to a 5th wheel down the road, I will consider the Kelderman system for the truck.

Any idea as the RPM at 70 with the 4.30 gears and 10 speed in 10th?

After getting the F350 with 4.10 gears I have wished I would have held out for a 3.55 truck but I had pressing deadlines and no truck...

With the 3 overdrives vs the 2 of the previous 6 speed it might be enough to keep highway RPM down and still have the grunt of the 4.30's when needed.

I had the 3:55s in the F350 and was very happy with them. Probably a little high for towing a 20,000 lbs RV but I've been very happy with the combination.
My F350 ran about 2000 rpm at 80mph

Thanks Jerrod, you didn't have to run out and do that but I do appreciate it.

The 2000 RPM @ 70 looks like 1000-1500 less than the 4.10's I currently am running.

That makes the 450 a little more attractive among other things.

With my trailer at 13k and payload up around 4k I don't think I need the 4.10s.

I remember you comparing your towing results to a 450 and believe you got near identical mileage, I am more interested in the unloaded trips @ 75+mph where the 4.10s really sing the RPMs.

Something is wrong if you are running 3000-3500 RPM at 70. I have a 350 with 4.10's and run around 2100 @ 70. Below is a table for the RPM's at speeds that came from the FTE site that are spot on.

4.10 DRW
4th gear 55 = 2764; 60 = 3015
5th gear 55 = 2061; 60 = 2248; 65 = 2435; 70 = 2622
6th gear 55 = 1624; 60 = 1772; 65 = 1919; 70 = 2067

Did a what sounded like a easy project today but turned to be a PITA.
I dropped the IS suspension 1" down to the lower bolt holes, inturn raising the RV 1".
This will get me closer to having everything match the new truck.

The holes didn't line up at all and I really had to work it into place to get the first bolt in then force everything little by little to get the next bolts in.

Definitely a PITA

I also tried to install the Centramatic balancers whiles l had everything apart. It takes 2 spacers to get the balancer out far enough to clear the Caliper, its about 1/4" or more and I just don't think I feel comfortable with what little bit of treads I have left on the studs.
I chose to not run them yet.
I don't want any issues on our trip to Texas.

I would even think about going to a 5/8" stud. With the added length, bigger is better.

Hey on another subject, are you still making the fresh water hole plugs?

I prefer the black ones if possible. Are you attending any of the west coast rallies?

It sounded so right in my head LOL. I even looked Jerrods dash to make sure

Man I hate it when a easy job goes like that.
I would have thought that those holes would be perfectly aligned.

Ok starting over
Top 10 Mod. #1 most use Mod yet
I searched all over the web trying to find the perfect cool looking RV door magnet. And had no luck, so I settled on this simple one from OSH/Home Depot. I mounted it in just the right place to be able to still use the factory latch if needed. So far I have not needed it.
This is one Mod that get used on a daily basis.
