questions about Bighorns

We received our 3585RL last May and managed to get it out on 4 road trips. Overall, we love everything about our condo on wheels. Tows great, storage huge, quality of construction great, and the floor plan is excellent for how we use it. Warranty items were all handled right: bathroom sink did not match toilet and shower, rubber seal pulled off bottom of one of the slides, and the table came with a scratch. We had a leaky air bed in the couch that was replaced, but are still not fans of air bed.
We were solid Jayco owners for the past 20 years, but believe what you got for your money with a Bighorn was a much better buy. As you try to decide on the right unit for you, make sure you think everything through. Never buy a trailer with a fridge in the rear, as the bounce in the rear is massive and your fridge shelves will drop. We make 90% of our meals outside, so fridge location near door is huge. Think about whether your a couch or chair user and its relation to the TV. Many TV's don't turn. Bottom line envision every facet of use and don't get caught up with just initial looks.

Thank you for your reply rboehlke. Interresting you would mention a rear kitchen unit. We had been considering a sob with the rear kitchen, after seeing a lot of posts on their web site about some major issues with all models we have decided against it. Thanks again.

Thank you for your welcome. Jim. Today we celebrate because our brand new Heartland Bighorn ti32 just showed up at Arbutus RV and we went and saw it yesterday. They are putting a hitch on our new (to us) 2005 Ford F350 and installing solar panels. So we couldnt' be happier. This was sure worth the wait.

Heartland Bighorn ti32 is the most beautiful and sensible luxury 5th wheel I've ever seen. We will call it our 5 star motel. lol

The accident in Arizona March 8th is just a bad memory now. Thankfully we had full insurance so we've ended up with a bigger, better and more awesome unit at no cost to us. We were lucky to have not been killed when that semi trailer hit us and destroyed our Ford f250 and 2003 Titanium trailer.

Hi adanaC,

Welcome to the Heartland Owners Forum and hopefully to the family. We have a great bunch of people here with lots of information and all willing to share their knowledge if needed.

Sorry to hear of you loss, but that may be for the better if you can upgrade to a Heartland RV.

Enjoy the forum.

Thank you Jim,
The point I was trying to make was we liked the size of the Glendale Titanium 26/31 because it was an excellent floor plan for the size. We drove over mountains and switchbacks with no problems.
We will miss our portable cabin.
Do you know if Big Horn is going to make a smaller ti than the 32? Because the ti32 is just a bit too big for us.
We love the quality of Big Horn as we did the Glendales. So we are anxious to hear back if Big Horn has more plans for smaller units.

Hope we can travel down to Texas someday or meet you on a rally somewhere down south. We had a fantastic adventure holiday and loved Arizona until our accident.
Luckily we just have whiplash, although the back window of truck blew out. Our 2 little pomeranians were buckled in their car seats and they are fine too.
It was a true miracle we survived and got back home to Canada, but involved 2 wks in a motel and a week driving a u-haul home. But hey, we're here!!! :)

I talk too much. lol Sue and Bob
