Refrigerator stopped working

We have a new Lakeview extended stay unit. We opened of the season and it refrigerator was working fine. The second weekend the freezer stopped freezing is only the temperature of the refrigerator. The bottom refrigerator section is cool but not even cold enough to put milk in. It is still under warranty and trying to find a service person to fix it. Not sure how a new refrigerator only 3 months old could break.

Hi SMHilG,

Welcome to the Heartland Owners Forum and to the family. We have a great bunch of folks here with lots of information and all willing to share their knowledge when needed.

Have you contacted your dealer for service help? If you have and have not received any, I suggest you call Heartland Customer Service, 574-262-8030 or 877-262-8032, and ask if they have a mobile service rep name that they use in your area. You don't tell us what kind of fridge you have, but we have lots of info in the tools area.

Be sure and check out our Heartland Owners Club. Join us at a rally when you can and meet lots of the great folks here and make friends for a lifetime.

Enjoy the forum and your new unit.

We have a Frigidaire unit Refrigerator. We were told to work with Frigidaire for repair, but are having a hard time getting service to come out where we are located. So I thought I would start reaching out to others. We have only used our Lakeview for 4 months and have a 2 page list of things wrong with it. Getting very frustrated now, every time we go up for the weekend, it is something else that is not working or braking. The dining room light fell down and was hanging by the electric wires when we turned it off on night!! The refrigerator and the hot water heater was the last things to brake. Trying to see if others are having same issues.

The appliance warranty is provided by the appliance manufacturer, just like in your home. If this is a Frigidaire residential refrigerator (runs on 110V AC only - not on propane), it's just like having a refrigerator problem in your home. Unless you're 200 miles from civilization, there should be a service outfit somewhere nearby that does warranty work on Frigidaire refrigerators. Has Frigidaire customer service been able to point you to one?

There are 2 service companies in the area and they both can't come because of health reasons or family emergencies. So the appliance manufacturer is now trying to locate someone outside the service area that would be willing to come and look at it. We are now on 4 weeks with just the refrigerator not working. The hot water heater has not been addressed yet, the paneling coming off the hallway walls has not been addressed, the lack of stain on parts of the cabinet doors has not been addressed, the molding on the bathroom countertop has not been address yet, getting a bad taste for Brenckenridge/Heartland right now.

What does "not been addressed yet" mean? Usually you call the selling dealer and arrange for warranty repairs. Have you done that?
