Repair, Adjustment and Maintenance of Tank Valves.

I've seen a lot posts of late regarding leaking or hard to operate tank valves. The most common solution is add another valve at the cap. While this can be a good temporary solution, some of them I've seen are a problem waiting to happen. Our roads are littered with all kinds of debris making these external extra valves a huge target. Despite many beliefs to the contrary cable operated valves do work if they are installed properly. Something either the RV manufacturers don't want to do, or can't.There are times when something gets lodged in the valve, making it necessary to remove the valve entirely, but even then a new set of seals and your're back in business. Luckily the repair is not that time consuming or difficult. The attached PDF is based on our BH, but really it would apply to any cable operated valve.
