Roof Repair

Hi Everyone,
I have a 2013 Trail runner that has some water damage on the front roof corner. Is it possible to peel back the rubber roof enough to replace the plywood that is rotten then reset the rubber roof back in place and reseal?
any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Gary

Hi gredden,

On many trailers, the roofing material is draped over the front before the front structure/cap is put on. So first you'd probably have to cut the rubber (later repairing the seam with Eternabond tape). When you pull the rubber up, it's likely that the thin luan layer under it could splinter, with some sticking to the rubber. It might be difficult to get it glued back down to new wood without lumps and bumps.

An alternative might be to purchase a piece of new roof material, cut out the old, and cover the seams with Eternabond tape.
