Re: rv parks and to do on the gulf coast
StevenJ,
We live in Kenner, a suburb of New Orleans. We just passed through the KOA last night which is located in Kenner, on Jefferson Highway. We noticed some improvements taking place, i.e., new RV pads, and that is a good thing. It has been needing a "sprucing-up" for quite some time. There is the French Quarter RV Resort located in downtown New Orleans, very pricey, and Jim Beletti just stayed there with wife Nancy, so maybe he can give you his opinion of the accomodations overall. What I advise visitors to the area to do is to stay at Fairview-Riverside State Park which is located in Madisonville, LA, just across Lake Pontchatrain, 32 or so miles out of town. That is my humble opinion. I would be happy to advise you on what and what not to do around our beautiful city. Just drop me a line and we can exchange contact info.
