My wife and I are planning on traveling from Northern California up Highway 101 all the up to Canon Beach with our Big Horn Fifth Wheel. We are looking for recommendations for RV Parks/Campgrounds along the way. We prefer full hook-ups or at least partial hook-ups. I would sure appreciate any feedback from anyone who has taken this route in the past. Thank you!

We have stayed at the Redwoods RV Park up by Crescent City. It was great. Our site was tucked back into the trees. Azalea Glen just outside the entrance to Patrick's Point was wonderful. But that was with a smaller unit. If they say you can fit, make sure and ask for a site on the pond. Honey Bear campground up across the Oregon border was nice. I've heard the wonderful couple that own it and the attached German restaurant are trying to retire, so not sure of its current status.

We just came back from the Redwoods in California. We stayed at Kamp Klamath just about 19 miles south of Crescent City. We enjoyed the campground, but bathrooms are not that great. People who run it are really nice and on Saturday nights they do an all you can eat bbq for about 16.00 a person. It was fun to meet new people. Also there is a jet boat tour of the river not too far from the campground. If you stay in Florence Oregon, be sure to take a sand dune tour...so fun. The light house tour in Crescent city was fun too. Have a safe and fun trip.
Yes! We stayed at Kamp Klamath also. Had a nice stay and the barbecue was great. We did have issues with the electrical post there but they moved us, twice, but after that we were fine.

The guide is free. As you drive the coast, your co-pilot can use it to find what is in front of you...it follows the mile markers and is broken down to 1/10th of a mile.

Hi Bill, thanks a million for taking the time to list all these campgrounds you've stayed at. This is extremely helpful for us. I usually limit my driving to 250-300 miles a day. My wife and I are both retired and therefore we can take our time. Our passion is sight seeing and hiking. We always check RV Reviews as a source for campgrounds. They generally pretty spot on. I thoroughly enjoyed checking out the modifications you performed on your Big Horn!!

I have traveled to all the states in the lower 48 since 2007. What helps me find a place to stay is RV Park Reviews... It may come up a bit slow at times but be patient. A lot of people use it.
I know my destination and I figure out how far I want to travel in a day then look for campgrounds in and around the area. First I look for COE parks which I prefer. RV Park Reviews has a lot of information about a lot of parks and the information is from us that use the park. You get some good reviews, meaning helpful, and some reviews that don't help at all. Again, these reviews are by people that stay at the parks. They also have a forum where you can visit and ask questions.
When I find a park I like I copy the Lat & Long and go to Google Earth to have a satellite view of the park if it is not covered by trees. But I can get a good location to the entrance.
I use Garmin's Basecamp to plot the entrance . Check it again with Google Earth. If it looks good I upload the locations to my RV760.

Thank you very much for responding to my thread. I spend quite a bit of time on RV Park Reviews researching campgrounds. However, I had no idea that there was a forum. I will definitely check this out.
I am also intrigued about utilizing Google Earth to get the satellite views of the campsites we are considering visiting. That will really be a useful that we will now use!
