Screen door doesn't lock in place when closed

Bought a new Heartland Trail Runner and set it up on our campsite yesterday. I went to open the main door and wanted to shut the screen door. The latch on the screen door wasn't long enough to catch the plastic tab that holds the door shut. Was wondering if this had happened to anyone else.

Hi Amarc1320,

Congratulations on the new Trail Runner and welcome to the Heartland Owners Forum. I'm sure other owners will chime in shortly with ideas.

Not a trailer, but on a screen door I installed some years back on the house. Remove the catch plate on the door frame and shim it with a piece of aluminum flatstock until it catches the door latch.

it almost seems as if the door might be shifted too far to the right. Didn't have enough time to see if there was a way to adjust it a little bit

You can adjust the catch. Loosen the screws and slide it over. You do not need to shim under the piece on the door frame.
