Screen Door Sticking

Skywrench

Full Timer
My screen door works well when the full weight of the trailer is on the wheels but when I use the back levelers, the screen door sticks a bit at the upper corner. It drives me crazy.

I'm trying to think of practical options for adjusting the door.
Should I sand a bit off the upper corner of the door?
Should I enlarge the holes on the screen door hinges so that the door can be adjusted? If I do this will the latch still line up?

Any input is much appreciated.

One thing that stuck out is that you mentioned rear levelers.
They are not levelers they are stabilizers.
So if you are using them to level your rig then you are most likely twisting the frame.
You should level side to side using blocking under the tires, and level front to rear using the tongue mounted jack.
Then just use the rears for stabilizing.

Peace

Thanks for the input guys. I enlarged the holes from 11/64 to 13/64 and then held the door away from the corner when I tightened the screws. The screen door works perfectly now with rear stabilizers up or down.

Normally you can adjust a screen door up or down with a little tug on the side/end that is NOT hitting/binding.
