Screen Door Latch Sliding Cover Replacement

I have a 30 ft Heartland toy hauler with a Dexter brand screen door.

The sliding cover for the latch broke. I found a replacement but can't figure out how to get it into the top and bottom slots.

I don't see an easy way to separate the frame pieces from the door without removing the screen first.

Can't find a YouTube for this. All other models are bendable.

The plastic is rigid and not easy to bend. Should I try to heat it up first?

In the 2nd pic, I tried to show the overlap I have to overcome after getting the replacement in the bottom slot.

I replaced mine, but it was a dometic door. Similar type plastic cover , and yes I heated it up(heat gun) slightly and bent it to insert it. The door is riveted together, I didnt see any way to insert it otherwise.

My crossmembers were screwed in, not riveted. I just unscrewed the crossmembers, installed the gate and reinstalled the crossmember.
