Silver Strand/Crab

We are going to San Diego to stay at Silver Strand State Beach. Any bits of advice anyone may be kind enough to pass along? Also since we are at the ocean we were wondering if anyone may suggest a seafood market we can shop? We like to cook and occasionally splurge on the good stuff.

Thank you in advance. You Heartland owners are the best.

Not sure about a market but there is a very good seafood eatery over on the wharf just a little north of the USS Midway called Anthony's. They serve lunch and dinner.

Mike, is that the one with the blue awnings that sits out over the water....if it is it's great place. Just have be careful because the seagulls like it to.

Edythe thinks that it does. I don't remember for sure. It is a little north of the USS Midway and just south of the maritime museum sailing ship. It's not the one down by the bridge at Seaport Village.

Lets just say that Black Beach probably is not sponsored by Disney!

Hi Carl,
Welcome to San Diego! Will you be here this w/e? For seafood markets, try Pt Loma Seafood, 2805 Emerson St. right on the water at the Pt Loma marina. They have a seafood counter where it's caught fresh daily. They also serve great prepared food but it's not a sit-down restaurant. For restaurants, there are some nice ones in Downtown or in Coronado

Hopefully you brought bikes, as there is a great riding path along the entire bayside length of Silver Strand. Also the Unlimited Hydroplanes are racing all w/e over in Mission Bay. How long are you staying?

Enjoy!
