Hello
We just bought a 2017 Landmark 365 Charleston floor plan 5er we are wanting to have slide toppers installed
We were told that they (Dealer)could not install one over the slide that as the TV in it because of the awning mounted on that slide
Has any one experienced this problem?

If you can order them from the factory the dealer should be able to install them too.

We had to move the slide topper support over about an inch towards the back of the trailer so that it would close, and not interfere with the awning arm. Our dealer said that it wasn't doable but with a little shift to the left it worked out great. We won't have another unit without them. Not only do they keep debris off the awning but also helps keep water off it as well. Just a little more insurance to keep leaks at bay.

How the 2nd awning over the TV is mounted is probably the concern. Have you looked at the unit to see if there's space to mount the slide topper hardware?

Slide toppers also keep it quieter in a heavy rain. If the area above the slide looks like it has enough height, then go to an independent RV repair place and ask them. Don't go to Camping World!

Yes you can. I had mine done at the dealer. and I've seen the factory toppers also. Mine are Carefree toppers the factory uses Dometic. If i did it again my first choice would be order the Landmark from the factory with them installed. They are a cleaner install. The Dometic toppers are mounted closer to the slide and it makes them look sleeker. The 2 large slide toppers need the cradle in the middle so they don't sag and puddle. I have one cradle done and still working on the other.
the spacing on the carefree toppers are to far from the slide wall.
Bottom line is it can be done but I would find a dealer that knows what there doing.

Had all three slide toppers mounted same day we picked up the rig. Dealer said the door side topper and awning come very close and asked me if I wanted to move the topper back a bit. Since the two just barely brush each other, I left as is. No problem so far. This was on a 3270 Bighorn. Probably close to the same on the Landmark.

I have carefree slide toppers and though I like them they can be a pain in the caboose. The single screw going into a 2 piece aluminum bracket is not strong enough in any wind (end cap and mounting tube). The bracket arms got bent the first time and the second time the screw pulled out of a bracket and end cap. I rebuilt the bracket with 1 inch galvanized strap that I thread through the bracket and bent in 90 degrees to accept a new screw, star washer and nut through the end cap. I had to grind down part of the bracket to allow for the nut. We will see if that holds when I reinstall the topper in a couple weeks. The bracket is now very stiff and strong. This problem is on the drivers side where the topper is 16 feet long (maybe a little longer?) I think the design of the topper is at its limit. The other toppers on the 2 other slide outs are fine.

Mine do rub a tiny bit, just a little shiny spot on the end.

I had to replace the 1" screws on all of the end cap's on my Carefree toppers. They are way to short and installed into a split channel. They don't stand a chance !!! It is a bad design.

I did that the first time. Now my end cap is really attached to the galvanized steel strap which slides through the tube and the original mounting screws go through the tube and into the brackets attached to the slide out. I don't rely in a screw going through the end cap into the split channel. I agree it is a bad design - especially for the larger slide out toppers.
