First of All. What are these black foam pieces stuck to my slide out. One came loose. Looks like a shim for the install, but may be wrong.
My next question is I don't see a lot of guys carry ladders. I see my rubber flaps don't always sit how they should after i run the slide which tells me if open and heavy rain I could get water running in. So is a ladder something that I need to start carrying on trips as well?

Thanks

Those are slide seal flippers to help the seals flip the right way when the slide is going out or in. Usually they have a double sided tape on them and can be pressed back in place. I have not had to carry a ladder on trips since my seals do lay the correct way on the slides.

Ah. So that would explain why that seal was not in place correctly. I have some double sided tape. I will put it back on.

I use my extendable broom handle to position the sweeper seals if necessary. I don't have the flippers.

I carry a ladder for other reasons. I have had to use it when I had slide toppers problems.

I made seal flipper out of a paint scraper and a extendable pole. But after I made it my seals have been flipping on there own.

Jarrod made one for me, it's the cat's meow! We haven't had to use it much on the new coach, but had 2 slides on previous I ALWAYS had to flip out seals near the top. This tool works great!!!
