Slide seal not flipping when extending

I have a 2014 gateway 3500re. When extending the big offside slide, the top seal doesn't flip outward, causing a crease in part of the inner seal. It seems like the seal and top of the slide are too dry and won't catch the rubber. Lube and baby powder that everyone uses seems to me would only make it slicker. Any suggestions?

Actually, the manufacturer of the rubber seal material doesn't recommend putting anything on them. That the seals sometimes don't fully flip when the slide is extended is not uncommon. Some owners have affixed self-adhesive auto trim strips on the surfaces to help force them to flip.

Since we sit on a seasonal site, one of my setting up jobs is to take an awning rod and manipulate the slide seals into the proper positions. Since the toppers have the tops protected, it's a short job to do the sides of the four slides. I check the tops later, when I get out my ladder to clean the rig.
