Slideout Stuck & Unstuck

When I brought our trailer from storage to the driveway prior to our last outing, I was not a happy camper when the slideout mechanism made a rat-a-tat-tat racket and the slideout didn't budge from its full in position. And the manual override shaft wasn't turning. Something's stuck.

It turned out to be an easy fix. Back off the outboard nut holding the slideout bracket to the threaded operating (push/pull) shaft. Use a wrench to rotate the square connecting shaft a turn or two, which breaks the slideout loose. Put back the outboard nut on the threaded operating shaft and tighten it up. Let the slideout motor take it from there.

Fortunately this happened in the driveway. The operating shaft nut needed a 1-1/8" wrench ... not something I stock in my trailer tool kit.
