Yeah but when it comes to the big fords to move a big load they still have to have a Cummins.

There is not enough cummins manufactured to replace the number of Ford hauling goods in this big country, like 2 to 1.

GE makes their own diesel engines for their locomotives made in Erie,Pa. The motors are made in Grove City, Pa. Patti retired from GE 2 1/2 yr ago. JON

Ok I just wanted to know. It looks like the auto industry could learn from that concept.

There was cars build with the same concept, the problem was to insure the cars that had a high tech motor at each wheels
The motors were DC and were doing both driving and breaking, and were computer controled in the 80's.
A Retired Electrical Engineer from Montreal tried to get the concept going. He had a 16HP Diesel engine to drive the generator charging batteries.
