Thermostat wire

I am having a new heat pump installed tomorrow to replace the 15000 AC and am wondering how the installer is going to replace the wire from the ac to the thermostat as the new one has more wires. I wonder if the new wire can be connected to the old wire and be just pulled thru the walls and ceiling ? I have a 2011 Big country...

Bob, I think the stat wire bundle has extra wires in it but doubt they will be needed. I think your good to go.
