I know tire shops have their own protocol when performing tire changes. I can certainly ask them if I can use the level up system but they also might not want to do that and instead just use their floor jacks. Will see what they say. Level-up when on the road and having to change a tire is certainly a good option though.
I agree wholeheartedly that some shops, especially national chains, will frown on advice from someone because of their liability or you name the reason.
But here’s what I do. I tell them that jacking up a large 18000# rig to change a tire puts undue stress on that one spring and that if they could, I’d like them to use a jack under each axle close to the unbolts. Another option I give them is letting me pull my other wheels up on blocks to help produce less stress before they jack up the wheel that needs fixing. I always carry 2x4 and 4x4 blocks.
