According to the 2016 Ford towing guide (quick access as mine is a ‘16), a 17k gvwr would put you in F-350 Dually weight rating. Single rear wheel (SRW) F-350 max loaded trailer weight is roughly 16k for diesel powered and 12.5k for gas powered. I’m sure you will find others successfully using a SRW diesel trucks, but that puts you over the edge of the rated capacity.

Hello - I went with 2018 Ram 3500 Laramie longhorn - 31K towing power -we have 4005
Cyclone HD 16K plus to tow - better mileage with diesel 6.7 cumins - going thru mountains no issue, easy to maintain truck, comfort is king for long haul - good luck on your search

I have a RAM 3500 dually that tows my 3611 quite well. I did add air bags to the rear axle to keep it from squatting when hooked up. I especially enjoy the engine brake this cummins has.
