My DH does the towing. I wont tow a rig this large. I help him pull or back it in to the CG sites. So far we haven't hit anything but both rear stabilizers were destroyed in campgrounds because they're so low. We replaced them with manual ones. The spare tire under the hitch is too low also and has dragged once or twice. Not all of us park in RV Resorts where everything is about dead level. DH added heavy duty casters to the rear frame. Our old Sunline and Zinger were both higher and didn't drag going up or down into campsites.
We use hand signals, the mirrors and yelling.....

Your North Trail looks about as low as our 27' TT was (another brand). Low profile to be aerodynamique...yeah right. So low that the holding tank only trickled while trying to dump. I had to dig a pit under it to use a blue tote at the state park. It had skid rails behind the rear stabilizers that almost scraped while backing it up my driveway. At least the spare tire was mounted on the back, not underneath. No clearance problems with the BH, though.

. . . and I can't figure out why the 28BRS is so much lower than my 26LRSS. Mine is plenty high in fact I had to make an extra step so it now has four steps. I wonder why they changed. The springs are on top of my axles, but I have heard that some have the springs under the axles.
We use walkie talkies when parking the rig at our storage site, but at campgrounds Chuck does it all by himself. One time another male camper "helped him" by giving verbal and hand signals and the end result was a badly dinged in RV. Since then he prefers to do it without assistance. Jean

Until we get a rear view camera, we use FRS radios from Wal-Mart and a "MONBACK" brand system. It took some time to get this system up and running but once we worked out the bugs in the software it works fine. I like it because it's guaranteed to keep your RV from any damage. I would suggest you get one to keep your rig safe. You ask, what’s this system ? Why, it's Patti out back with the FRS radios saying "mon back" "mon back", Okay, that's it - whoa"

In most situations I manage pretty well on my own. Lin will normally tell me where to stop if needed. If there are any trees or anything that may interfere she watches out for those things. She also places the chocks before we begin the set-up process.
During our work camping experience, one of my duties was to lead guests to their site and offer assistance backing in. I learned quite a bit about differences the in turning radius among the tow vehicles. Older Chevrolets (like mine) and GMC's are terrible. Makes a huge difference in backing up rigs.

if we have to back into a spot, i usually will walk it real quick and look for anything that i would be concerned with. then i will have lindsay stand where i want the drivers side rear corner of the trailer to be. I will back it to her and when she moves (or else get a kiss from the trailer) then i have it where i want. I tried to john wayne it a couple times but this way she feels like she is helping and with us having this plan, there is no frustrations between us

We have one Iphone4 and an iphone3. If we had two iphone4's I think we could face time she would be the camera and I would be the monitor.
We added huge heavy duty steel casters to the rear frame to keep from ripping off the bumper and slide-out tray in the campgrounds and gas stations. She drags on the slightest incline. We also bought heavy duty stabilizers but wont bolt them to the frame or they'll be destroyed like the ones the BRS came with. We use them manually. We spent several hundred dollars on this TT just because it's too low to the ground. It cost us $180 for more gravel in our driveway just to get it in and out without major dragging. Even with the castors it drags at gas stations and campgrounds at times because we couldn't get them back far enough. This was something we never thought about since we had no problems with our other rigs dragging. We've racked our brains and can't find anywhere to put the spare tire. Both the other rigs had some kind of bracket on the rear wall to hold the spares. I don't know if brackets can be added to the BRS, if the back wall is strong enough - or where to even buy one.
Our dump pipe is also quite low but we haven't damaged it yet. And yes, I know how hard it is to get the sewerage into the blue-tote with the dump pipe is so low.
Fortunately this winter we'll have a site with full hookups. We don't usually need the blue tote when we camp for a week.RannCarr,

Oh ya I forgot, with the two Iphone 4s One of us can be directing by pointing the camera/phone at any problems. kind of like having a portable camera from the back of your rig. Any way works for us.

I use the wife with the cell phone behind the rig and then my cell phone hooked up to my Aux port in the truck. She guides me backwards & advises on any obstackles. It's much easier on the nurves & less argueing.

Ya, I put my phone on mute unless I have to tell her something. That way she wont hear my stupid comments.
