What is it - 50 or 80

If this is really a class problem, why is Hearland not recalling these units and fixing them? Ticks me off. These threads go back to 2007, and I bought a 2014 and its still a problem.

Now, I called a service center, they claim my auto resetting breaker is 50 a, my Lippert manual says 80 amps, with a part number?

So what is it really?

And where are the manuals for a 2014? Yikes.

Hi jaydub11,

You didn't provide a lot of information, but it sounds like you're having intermittent trip/reset of the 50 amp mini-circuit breaker for the auto-leveling system. The breaker can trip for a number of reasons - the most common being a weak breaker. But it can also be due to low battery output, poor grounding, dirty or loose connections, or a bind in the mechanism.

Lippert leaves it up to the manufacturer to determine what size breaker is used. Heartland uses a 50.

At one time Lippert had a tech sheet that said the fix for a tripping breaker was to replace it with an 80, but they withdrew that advice - perhaps because it's a little like putting a penny in your home fuse box because you keep blowing fuses.

If a new breaker doesn't take care of the problem, you'll need to start looking at the other possible causes.

If you are not the original owner, and don't have the trailer manual, you can download a current manual from the HeartlandRVs.com website.
