I hear the same thing is happening for the Illinois tollway system. I guess we now have a choice, tolls, traffic or fuel costs. A real bummer!

How about the tolls when you want to go south , ie the Walt Whitman bridge , De. Pike , JFK pike from De to Baltimore.!
If you stay on I-95 you'll pay over $40 going So. draggin your trailer for 50 miles.
I think I'll use Rt. 40 and avoid De and JFK tolls.
You have to ask why are these tolls so high??

Come on up to Michigan! No toll roads here. But then, we've got stretches of highway that are too crappy to even fly over.

If you don't have to get there in a hurry, getting off the highway is more fuel efficient. Travelling a US highway at 50 mph we get our best gas mileage. Not to mention the scenery.....did I mention that I'm retired.

Travel in Oklahoma or Florida on the toll roads and you better go get a loan from the bank first to be able to pay the tolls.

Chesapeake Bay Bridge and Tunnel has always been a high toll. Coming back to Jersey from Hatteras JB about had a stroke going through that toll booth.

I think they have to raise the tolls here to pay for digging up the projects they completed 6 months ago. The Manahawkin Interchange to Route 72 was just finished and they have barrels in place now to dig it up again. That's where the money goes!

Coincidentally, I just got finished updating and replacing my PIKEPASS. While I was online I calculated the cost of traveling Indian Nations Turnpike from I-40 to Hugo, OK pulling my 5er and it came to $9.95. Now this is with my discount because I use Pikepass $10.75 is the cash price. I few years back I was coming home from Sturgis Rally in SD and was on the Cimmaron TP and it was so rough that it rattled the taillight bar off of the fender of my Harley. What P-Oed me the most was I paid to drive on that POS.

You can't leave Tulsa, OK in any direction now without hitting a turn pike.
