How much wind is too much?

I wall pulling with the wind at 20 to 30 mph and having no problems, but I started thinking, how much wind is too much to be towing this 5th wheel? When should I stay in the park until the wind drops?

When I cross Kansas and got into head winds of 40 mph I had to pull into a truck stop and waited until it just about stop. I was only getting about 6 mpg at that time and normally get 10 to 11 mpg pulling with a F-350 7.3. Even the big trucks was getting off the interstate when the wind got up so I stop and got between a couple of them and went to sleep for 5 hrs.

I use the 18 wheelers as a guide when towing in bad weather. I have towed with gusts up to 50 and was ok, but if it would have been a constant 50 I would have parked it. 20 to 30 is doable.

I haven't worried to much about head winds, but more about side winds. As far as I know head winds won't flip you over just kills fuel economy.
